Misc. Seoul Eats

Daegu Tang (cod fish stew, also featuring interesting ingredients like cod roe and cod sperm) + banchan (notice the very, very mean and almost black kimchi to the very right).

aka best sweet and sour pork I ever tasted

Snack plate! Misc. (inferior) tempura in a department store food court...

We were thus quite envious of our young neighbors' snack.
Samgyeopsal and kimchi aplenty + soju to wash it all down.

Pajeon and Makgeolli rice wine - traditionally eaten on rainy days.
Banana "donut" from Dunkin' Donuts.

Bei (Closed)

Bei
The Village, Building 1
11 San Li Tun Road
Chaoyang, Beijing

Notes:
The best Japanese food I have had in Beijing. B and I went with their tasting menu of which the highlights for me certainly were the sashimi with homemade tofu sheets (best tofu I have ever eaten) and the nigiri. Wine prices are steep though (even by Beijing standards). Recommended.
